Well I found out yesterday that I have strep throat. It got pretty bad a couple of days ago when I couldn't even swallow my own spit. Kinda scary to tell you the truth. But things seem to be on the up swing and I'm feeling much better. I'm not out of the woods yet by any means, but I feel at about 70% if that makes any sense. Right now I'm on antibiotics and am sleeping and sweating a bunch. It's handy having the love of a good women to get ya through crap like this. Thanks Nic !!!!!

Baby Showers Bonanza
Much thanks to all who were involved in our Baby Showers. I wish I could have been there. I heard the last one up in Cleveland was fabulous. Thanks again for all the hard work and it's wonderful to see all the love and support for our little Henlet. A tip of the hat as well to Irene for driving all the way from Virginia to be with Nicole at the latest shower. We're at 35 weeks now!

Wow, Nicole and Henlet just started their third trimester. It seems to be going by so fast these days. Nicole's doing better now, but she still feels sick just about everyday. She's a trooper though, they grow 'em tough down in West Virginia. Well keep your fingers and toes crossed for our little girl.

This post goes out to General, whom we had to put to sleep this week. It's extremely sad, but it was clearly the right thing to do. Not many people know what a special kitty General was and Henlet was lucky enough to at least have General lying and purring on Food Lady's tummy everyday. It was almost as if General was laying on an egg waiting for it to hatch. We love General very much and he will forever be in our hearts.

Wow I can hardly believe that next week if all goes well me and Nic will be able to see our child's face. This special ultrasound will also show us the sex of our baby and a bunch of other anatomical stuff. It's funny to me, how many people have a guess as to whether Henlet is a boy or a girl. I think either would be fun; the hardest part for me right now is trying to choose a name. I think it's for the best to keep me and Nicole's top picks a secret. We'll keep y'all posted. At least our choices for names will soon be narrowed.

After being a Father for 16 weeks I can tell ya it ain't all that easy. My nephew today was giving me pointers on fatherhood, and told me I shouldn't swing my baby around after I feed him because his Dad did that once and he through up all over him. When asked how long I should wait to swing my baby my Nephew said to wait until the food was in his diapers. Good advice I think

Ahh the circle of life. Henlet just starting out and me somewhere hopefully in the middle. Why is it a circle by the way? Shouldn't it be more like a segmented line? Anyhow Papa Bear turns 37 today. Remember no casket for me when I shove off. I think cremation is the way to go. Nicole can spread me wherever she wants, but I was thinking the lake at Ursuline would be nice or maybe over the Hocking. Depends on the weather or who's up for a roadtrip. Good Luck little Henlet

Nicole wanted me to give everybody a little update since Henlet is soon to be entering his/her second trimester. Henlet is now about the size of a Christmas Peep, for the Jews in the house that's about a small portion of gefilte fish (in the ballpark of 2 and a half inches tall). Kinda blows my mind........

First Blog
Wow our kid's first Blog and he/she is only six weeks old. Henlet (don't worry this is only a temporary name) is doing fine although he/she is making Nicole a wee bit queasy. We haven't figured out quite yet what Henlet's craving. At first it was dairy and now we're running out for shakes, saltines, Jello, chicken patties, cheeseburgers, soup, or beans and rice at any given moment. We've heard everything from plums to matza ball soup as home remedies for morning sickness. Hopefully this upset stomach thing is only temporary and some say that it's a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Anyhow Henlet's Nest will try to keep y'all posted and updated as far as Henlet's latest and greatest news/pictures. Take care everybody and thanks for all your help.
Love, Henlet's Pop
